Rebekah Charlton

Rebekah Charlton is the co-founder of not-for-profit SuperCue Seniors and is passionate about speaking to older adults’ abilities not limitations. After over 10 years working specifically with older adults, she has an in-depth understanding of effective programme delivery, in particular, how to safely challenge and inspire older adults in a group fitness class for better outcomes and engagement. Rebekah started teaching group fitness at the age of 15 and has continued teaching for the last 25years. After becoming a personal trainer in her early 20’s Rebekah turned her focus to special populations and for many years worked with those that struggled with mental illness. Over the last 10years, Rebekah focused specifically on older adults, designing, choreographing and teaching classes for 65+years. As Community Services Manager for Enliven Older People Services, Rebekah managed the content, delivery, and outcomes of physical activity sessions to more than 150 older people each week. Rebekah’s affinity for older people grew as she watched them connect, improve, and enjoy the positive benefits of her programme content. Rebekah implemented the Live Stronger for Longer project for Enliven throughout the east coast in 2017 and early 2018. Through that work she identified gaps within programme delivery and, with co-founder Marya Hopman, developed SuperCue Seniors to provide older adults programmes that are affordable, accessible and reflect the latest research and best practice.
